Report on the Gala on 6th/7th of June.
All was looking promising weather wise on friday evening with a full rally field and the smell of BBQ's in the air.Most of us were woken by the sound of heavy rain on our caravans or tents.The day dawned cloudy and a light drizzle,this didn't put off the hardy rally members,soon steam and the sound of the odd whistle or two coming mostly from the railway site.By midday the sun was breaking through,a steady stream of passengers and punters mingled with the traction engines.Saturday turned out to be a nice day.Sunday,we were again woken by the sound of rain,it was obvious Sunday was not going to be as nice as saturday.The rain continued through morning,the organisers decided to cancel the rally,it's such a shame but they didn't want to cause damage to the sports field.
